Dillsboro Elementary School Explores Preschool Program Option
Dillsboro Elementary School is currently exploring the option of adding a half-day or full-day preschool program for 4-year-olds who will be entering kindergarten the following year. The goal of the preschool program would be to help ease your child’s transition into a school routine, with an emphasis on developing skills necessary for kindergarten readiness.
Before DES moves forward with plans to add a preschool program, DES administration and principal, Sam Melton, would like to determine if there is enough interest from the families in our community.
If implemented, the preschool program would follow the same calendar as the rest of Dillsboro Elementary and would run the same time as a regular school day (from approximately 7:55 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.). The program would incorporate both education and play and the cost to parents/caregivers would be approximately $10-$15 per half day and $20-$25 per full day.
If you would be interested in enrolling your child in this half-day or full-day preschool program next year, please email Dillsboro Elementary School at dillsboro@sdcsc.k12.in.us by Wednesday, February 15. Indicating interest does not in any way commit you to enrolling your child next year and there is no certainty the program will even be offered. At this time we are simply exploring to better serve the needs of our local families.
