A SDCSC Welcome!
Life at South Dearborn High School
Engaging. Hands On. Relevant. Just a few ways we'd describe a typical day at South Dearborn High School. Students thrive in our small town, community-based culture located within a safe, secure and beautiful campus. We offer state-of-the-art technology within our modern facilities including computer labs, Internet access & 1:1 Devices in our English Classrooms.
How We Operate
Our school operates on a Trimester Schedule, which includes three 12-week semesters, with five 70-minute class periods per day. We also offer a Balanced Calendar School Year, which increases Continuity of Instruction while reducing summer learning loss.
From an academic perspective, our school corporation recently had the highest ISTEP score increase compared to other area schools. This is just one indication of the commitment to academic achievement that you'll find at South Dearborn High School and throughout the entire South Dearborn Community School Corporation.

- Speech & Language Services
- After School Tutoring Programs
- STARS Peer Mentoring Program for Freshmen

"The SDHS staff goes above and beyond to ensure student success!" - SDHS Parent
"As a parent, I like the dual credit offerings that will allow my student a head start for college." - SDHS Parent
Student Testimonials
"I took AP Biology my senior year of high school, and it was by far the most challenging class I ever decided to take. However, as soon as I got to college I realized it was the best decision I could have made. As a college freshman this fact not only gave me confidence, but helped me relax, and also not feel so lost in my new college experience. Everyday, I use some tool that AP Biology taught me to solve a problem, or even know to study for a test. AP Biology not only only provided me with a VAST knowledge of biology itself, but the class taught me study skills and many other tools that are so crucial for college. Seize the opportunity, you will never regret it." - Crystal Nichols 2014 Graduate
Staff Testimonials
"Our staff is caring and always puts the needs of the students first." - R. Mersmann
"Just a great place to work. Very caring staff with super students." - C. Thomas
