Today we welcome Mrs. Josie Goldsberry of Moores Hill Elementary School to our Meet Our Team Monday spotlight.
Mrs. Goldsberry just began her fifth year of teaching. During her teaching career, she has been a Title I teacher, has taught preschool, and was a remediation aide. She now teaches kindergarten at MHES.
She says that her favorite teacher growing up was an elementary teacher named Mrs. Linkmeyer. “She always had fun and engaging educational activities, but most of all she always showed she cared about her students!”
We asked Mrs. Goldsberry why she chose to make a career of education. She replied, “I’ve always spent a lot of time with kids. I enjoy being around young, excited, and curious minds! I feel like I can make a positive impact on the students I get to work with.”
When asked what she enjoys most about working at MHES, and what stands out about SDCSC, she responded, “I really enjoy the team environment here at Moores Hill. It is a pleasure to work with other teachers who are really passionate about what they do and truly care about the kids.”
Mrs. Goldsberry’s hopes for this school year are simple: “I really want my students to gain a love of learning this year at school, while having a safe and happy educational environment.”
Outside of school, Mrs. Goldsberry enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, playing outdoors, watching movies, walking their dog, and reading as a family. They also enjoy attending SDHS sports events.
Mrs. Goldsberry’s advice for SDCSC students is to always try your best at school and work hard to take yourself to the next level. “You decide your own future, so take everything in and enjoy your elementary and high school careers. You’ll never have another time like this!”
