Join us as we welcome Mrs. Nikki Bosch, first grade teacher at Manchester Elementary School, to our Meet Our Team Monday spotlight. Mrs. Bosch attended Xavier University where she completed her teaching certificate and received her reading endorsement. She will be graduating in December with her master’s degree in elementary education.
Mrs. Bosch began her second year of teaching this year at Manchester Elementary School and says that she enjoys teaching first grade. She says many people influenced her choice to become a teacher, but the biggest influence was her own mother. “My mother put her career on hold to raise three kids, and then returned to her passion of teaching. Even though she is retired, she continues to volunteer in classrooms, including my own! Her dedication to instilling the love of learning has been a lifelong journey that I admire.”
We asked Mrs. Bosch, who began her college career by obtaining a degree in criminal justice at University of Cincinnati, why she decided to make a move into education. She answered, “I went into education because I want to make a difference in the lives of my students. We are each given unique gifts and I want to be a part of helping children discover and hone their talents.”
Mrs. Bosch’s favorite part of working at MES is the people. She enjoys being a part of a school culture where everyone is so very caring, thoughtful, friendly, and helpful. “The interaction that I have had from others within the district is the same. It is a collaboration of good people who put the students and education first.” She says that her hopes for this school year include engaging and challenging all of her students while continuing to make learning fun.
Outside of school, Mrs. Bosch enjoys spending time with her family. “My two children are constantly on the move, so they keep my husband, Jason, and me busy!”
Her advice for all SDCSC students is: “Follow your dreams! A friend of mine once said that you should look to your family, teachers, and friends for support, as we want you to use our cumulative years of wisdom to do great things. Standing on the shoulders of giants will allow you to reach higher in the stars!”
Thank you so much, Mrs. Bosch, for sharing with us today.
