Please help us welcome Mrs. Tricia White to the Meet Our Team Monday spotlight! Mrs. White is a special education teacher at South Dearborn Middle School.
Mrs. White attended Bowling Green State University and graduated in 1991 with a degree in special education. She said she was inspired to go into education by her 5th grade teacher who made learning fun and engaging.
We asked Mrs. White what she feels is important to know about special education and she said, “It is a lot of very hard work, but really rewarding.” Her goal for the 2016-17 school year is for her students to be successful at the goals she sets for them.
Mrs. White says she enjoys working with her colleagues at South Dearborn Middle School because they are so supportive. “SDMS staff really cares about the students and work hard to help every student strive to reach their full potential.”
Mrs. White says she hopes to become more technologically savvy during this school year, to take advantage of the amazing technology available to our teachers and students.
Outside of school, Mrs. White enjoys baking, reading, and hanging out out with her family. “Over the years I have been very busy with my own children’s activities, attending sporting events, 4H events, and many other school-related activities. I really have not had time for my own hobbies. Now that my youngest child is a senior in high school, I am looking forward to finding new activities and hobbies for myself.” Mrs. White has two large dogs and four cats that were strays that found their way to her home and have become family pets.
Mrs. White says her advice for all SDCSC students is to “get your diploma and strive to have a career that will always allow you to take care of yourself.”
Thank you for sharing a little about yourself with us, Mrs. White!
