Ms. Katie Jackson graduated from Lawrenceburg High School before attending Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. While at IUPUI she participated as an active member and student advisor in Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies.

Ms. Jackson has been an elementary school teacher for SDCSC for two years and is a second grade teacher at Dillsboro Elementary School this year. She decided to become a teacher because she loves seeing students get excited about learning, especially when their faces light up when they learn something new. Ms. Jackson says Dillsboro is an amazing place to work. She loves that the parents are always willing to help out and the students are wonderful.

When she is not teaching, Ms. Jackson coaches South Dearborn Middle School swimming as well as Girls on the Run. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her fiancé, as well as playing board games and eating good food. Ms. Jackson’s older sister is also a teacher.

If Ms. Jackson could go anywhere in the world, she would love to visit Germany. She sometimes talks to her students in different accents to help pique their interests and give them a good laugh. Her favorite subject is math and she loves reading the Amelia Bedelia book series to her students.
