Ms. Hannah Weismiller graduated from Lawrenceburg High School where she was involved in Key Club and Tiger Pizazz, while playing varsity soccer. She attended Purdue University where she volunteered teaching Sunday School and sang in one of Purdue’s many choirs. Now, Ms. Weismiller teaches first grade at Manchester Elementary School and absolutely loves it.

Ms. Weismiller says she always wanted to become a teacher. When she was younger, she always looked forward to helping her mom set up her classroom, and now that Hannah has her own she knows she made the right decision. Her mom is her biggest role model and has helped her achieve her dream by shaping the path to becoming a teacher herself.

When asked her favorite part about teaching, Ms. Weismiller answered, “I love watching a student have their 'light bulb' moment; when they finally understand something that may have initially caused them trouble. Teaching first grade allows me to see students’ reading abilities grow throughout the year, and I love seeing the progress they make! Plus, my students always make me smile.” And although her students never fail to brighten up her day, she says her “work-family” is also a source of joy, always offering her words of encouragement and keeping her laughing throughout the day.

I
n her spare time, Ms. Weismiller loves to read, play piano, and exercise, along with coaching soccer. She recommends the books Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and Horton Hears a Whoto any elementary students looking for a great book.
